Visitation Support

We provide a safe and supportive environment for parents to have supervised Visitations with their children. All visits are monitored by staff on the premises. Each visit is recorded and submitted to DHHS caseworks and attorneys involved with family court cases.

our facilities are equipped with rooms for infants, toddlers and teens. we provide all manner of age Appropriate toys and activities, from baby dolls to air hockey tables, to board games and crafts.

Convenient Locations

We currently have two facilities in central maine both located off the highway in lewiston and newport.

Flexible hours

Each facility is open 7 days a week.

Current hours are Monday-Saturday 7:30am to 7:00pm and Sundays 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Typical visit times are in 2 hour blocks, but can be scheduled to suit any need from 1 hour to 8 hours.

How are visits supervised?

Visitors are assigned a room for their appointment time. In this room they are monitored by staff In Another room through camera and audio equipment. each visit is recorded. Visitors will remain in their rooms for the duration of the visit, but are allowed to leave for the restroom and other Activities.

Are pets allowed?

We understand the importance of Children being able to visit with family pets. Currently we only allow dogs in the facility. The only requirement is proof of vaccinations and vet check up. They do not need to be a service animal.

Are we allowed to leave the Visitation Center?

Fair Shake does not do community visits. All visits are done inside the facility.

Am I allowed to bring guests to my visits?

For DHHS cases, the case worker must approve all visitors. For Family Matters in general the visiting parent can bring their own guests as long as the custodial parent is aware. Each case is different.

How do I make an appointment?

To make an appointment you need to have a referral for our facility. For DHHS cases the caseworker is Responsible for this. Once your referral is complete we will contact you for Scheduling. For Private pay you and the custodial parent need to fill out referral forms and pay a deposit. Once this step has been completed we will move forward with scheduling.

Do you provide transportation?

Fair Shake does not have a transportation service. Caseworkers may be able to set up through Ridesource, KVCAP, or other services.
